Today, Chicago sports fans are mourning the loss of two of its greatest icons. Johnny “Red” Kerr and Stormin’ Norman Van Lier. For those of us who enjoyed the sights and sounds of the Bulls championship years, we fondly recall the enthusiasm of Kerr’s commentary and the bluntness of Stormin’ Norman’s insight to the game.
For the youngsters who love the Lebron James and Lil Wayne “Powder” commercial. That was started with Michael Jordan and Red.
Both Johnny and Norm will be missed and I’m sure Chicago will stand up …

It’s a sad day for Chicago Bulls fans everywhere. Yesterday we lost Norm Van Lier, better known around these parts as Stormin’ Norman. He called it like he saw it and was never afraid to check a player if he didn’t see the guy playing with some heart. That’s was Norm’s favorite say, “Man, have some heart!” The man was hardcore and wasn’t afraid to scrap with anyone.
